| Bio: | Hello and welcome to my spider diary! This diary was created to give me a place to keep track of the spiders I find and identify. It's also a place for me to talk about spiders in general. See my introductory post here. Identifying Spiders Most of my posts to this livejournal should be about identifying spiders that I've found. I use a website, http://www.bugguide.net to help me identify critters. This site is very useful, it allows you to post pictures of anthropods you've found in North America and folks will help you identify them. It also has lots of information about anthropods and can be used to identify them yourself if you have the time and patience. I use the pictures on this site to try to identify spiders on my own, then ask them to confirm my identification. My entries will have pictures and some information that I've found out about each of the spiders. Ones I haven't identified will just be labelled "unidentified" and will be tagged that way. Identity requests on BugGuide.Net will be linked to. If anybody thinks they can help me with identification, I'd really appreciate it. Essays I'll occasionally write essays on spider-related subjects. They will be tagged so you can find them from the navigation bar on the left hand side of my journal. Spotlights Whenever I'm feeling particularly taken with a certain species of spider, I'll write up spotlights on them. Again, these will be tagged for easy navigation. | |||||
